The Christ For All Nations Church in Orlando hosted Wednesday’s food giveaway that benefited several hundred community members.

According to a report by Click Orlando, the church led the food distribution sponsored by One Heart for Women and Children and the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Organizers eyed at least 400 families as beneficiaries for the food drive.

Free Food for Orlando Residents

Shirley Boone, one of the hundreds who lined up for free food, told Click Orlando that she arrived at the venue at 7 a.m. Even then, she said she could hardly determine how long the line was when she arrived.

“More of my tears are more for people that are in this line because it’s sad. Because look at all the people all the way down. I’m here at 7 a.m. Imagine how long they’ve been in line, the ones who are in front of me,” Click Orlando quoted her saying.

Despite having gone out of work, Boone told the news outlet that she intended to distribute the food she got to her neighbors and her grandkids. Boone added that when she offers food to other people, she gets a questioning look. It’s only when she tells them that she got the food from the food bank that people take the food she offers.

Dan Samuels, Second Harvest Food Bank’s Director of Philanthropy, explained that schoolchildren on their spring break would benefit from their food giveaway, particularly those with limited school lunches or no regular food access. Samuels added that Wednesday’s event was meant to help families get food on their table during the weeklong spring break.

He said they are able to hold such activities due to the generosity of people who volunteer. Heritage Christian School senior Luke Tiernon was among those who helped distribute food to Orlando residents.

Tiernon, who hails from Indiana, told Click Orlando that he and his schoolmates opted to serve others rather than give something to themselves during the annual school break.

“Orlando is such a beautiful city, but it also has a lot of opportunities where we can get involved and really give back to a community that we wouldn’t be able to otherwise,” he explained.

About Christ For All Nations Church Orlando

According to its website, Christ For All Nations (CFaN) Church Orlando is part of the worldwide CFaN family led by its founder, Reinhard Bonnke.

Bonnke reportedly had a recurring dream about “a blood-washed Africa” in 1974, where the Holy Spirit spoke to him. That dream inspired Bonnke to establish the church, which grew into the multinational church it is today.

Daniel Kolenda succeeded Bonnke as the church’s leader. Today, Kolenda leads a global church with a presence on six continents, 12 countries, and 14 offices.

Kolenda is also the Lead Pastor of the church’s local presence in Orlando, the Nations Church. He founded the CfaN Evangelism Bootcamp and wrote eight books. Kolenda also holds “massive open-air evangelistic campaigns in some of the most dangerous, difficult, and remote locations on earth.”
