On March 25, catechists from the Archdiocese of Philadelphia gathered for the 32nd annual Catechetical Convocation at Archbishop John Carroll High School.

According to a report, the convocation theme was "This Is My Body, Given For You," with a prayer and formation.

Along with the catechists present at the event, there was also a Mass presided over by Archbp. Nelson Perez.

According to Catholic Philly, Msgr. Michael Magee delivered the keynote address.

Monsignor Magee is the dean of the School of Theological Studies, a full professor and chairperson of the Department of Systematic Theology, and a full professor in the Departments of Systematic Theology and Sacred Scripture at St. Charles Borromeo Seminary.

The Association of Parish Directors, Coordinators, and Managers of Parish Religious Education Programs and the Office for Catechetical Development of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia co-sponsors this year's conference.

Colleen Lindsey, director of the Office for Catechetical Formation, says the catechist is a witness of faith and a memory keeper. In this, God is a teacher and educator that will guide them.

The principal duty of the Archbishop of Philadelphia is teaching the Catholic Faith, and the Office for Catechetical Formation (OCF) assists with this purpose.

The OCF encourages and sustains the catechetical endeavors of Catholic primary schools and Parish Religious Education Programs in the archdiocese. The OCF also urges leaders to engage in continual faith formation so that the beauty and truth of the Catholic faith can be communicated faithfully.
