Community members in Southwest Philadelphia and Pastor William Lonnie Herndon of the Church of Christian Compassion work together to raise funds to provide better healthcare facilities for urgent needs that have remained unnoticed for several decades.

Church Initiative to Serve the Community

Because there are no urgent care centers or health facilities in Southwest Philadelphia for those in need, people have nowhere to go during a medical emergency. This shortfall in the community motivates the Church of Christian Compassion to take the initiative to provide the people with the modern medical facilities they require.

According to Pastor William Lonnie Herndon, Senior Pastor at the Church of Christian Compassion, the church is raising funds to convert a former Southwest Philadelphia dialysis center into a modern urgent care center, a source posted.

According to Herndon, their goal is to raise $1.3 million to buy the facility and then collaborate with one of our healthcare partners in Philadelphia to provide medical services and care. He said that he set meetings with city officials and several of the major hospitals, and he is hoping that they will consider the church’s partnership.

Pastor Herndon believes that medical businesses do not establish in the community because there is a lack of health insurance in the area, and people cannot afford to pay for medical expenses.

Sending Support Through GoFundMe

The church has established a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to purchase the facility by Christmas and begin the process.

The Church of Christian Compassion announced its plans to build a community urgent care center on the FoFundMe page. The goal is to create a cutting-edge facility to ensure that our community can access high-quality, affordable health care in the neighborhood.

All donations will directly impact this new urgent care facility's purchase, renovation, and operation. Thank you in advance for contributing to this important cause for the community.

Those who want to help the church achieve its goal of providing an urgent center for the community can make donations online through the church's GoFundMe page.
