Church’s History
According to the church’s website, Presbyterians have been heeding the call of Jesus Christ for more than 200 years, spreading the good news throughout the world and proclaiming the saving love of Christ to the furthest ends of the earth.
The church said that it invited everyone to participate in what God is doing in the world, and that the Holy Spirit is still active today.
It added that the Presbyterian Mission Agency is devotedly working to inspire, equip, and connect the Presbyterian Church United States of America in all of its manifestations to serve Christ in the world through new and pre-existing communities of faith, hope, love, and witness as their partner in Christ's service.
Church’s Mission
According to the church, Presbyterian Mission is the denomination's national ministry arm, the largest of the six general assembly organizations for the Presbyterian Church USA.
The church said wherever the Holy Spirit leads and the General Assembly instructs everyone, they gladly collaborate with congregations, mid councils, worshiping communities, mission networks, and many other organizations to nourish and encourage Christ's disciples.
It added that evangelism and discipleship, developing servant leaders, and justice and reconciliation are the three key areas where Presbyterian Mission seeks to inspire, equip, and connect the church.
They carry out this work through four areas of ministry: justice, peace, and compassion; women's intercultural ministries and racial equity; theology, education, and outreach; and global mission.
The church frequently works with congregations, mid councils, and other organizations to achieve these aims.
Through a number of departments, they additionally provide help, it added.
According to the church, World Mission connects, empowers, and inspires Americans.
The church said they mentor and deploy a network of mission co-workers and young adult volunteers to work joyously and passionately with communities and church partners at home and in 50 different countries around the world while remaining ever-vigilant to the activity of the Holy Spirit.
To develop, equip, encourage, and transform devoted disciples, the ministries of theology, formation, and evangelism collaborate with the entire church, including its congregations, new worshiping communities, mid councils, pastors, and members.
They provide ministry to children, teenagers, and young adults. Numerous resources, like as curricula, theological articles, and worship and devotional materials, are published by the organization.
Presbyterians are also given the tools they need to get along well with persons from different faiths.
They also collaborate with universities, seminaries, and other educational institutions to provide more than $1 million in annual awards to undergraduate and graduate students.
