Church on the Palms will hold a service for those grieving this Christmas. The church encouraged those who want to remember and honor their loved ones to join the service on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary.
Blue Christmas Service
Church on the Palms announced it would hold the Blue Christmas Service on Dec. 21. The church will offer this alternative to the traditional celebration services. It acknowledged that Christmas might be difficult for others who lost a loved one.
It provided details through its Facebook page. Moreover, Church on the Palms asked its community to invite someone they know is in pain to consider attending the Blue Christmas or Longest Night Service.
As shared on Facebook, the service is an opportunity to acknowledge pain and grief and to honor their beloved. The church also announced the event through its calendar.

This December, the church prepared and organized various events to celebrate Christmas.
Valley Women hosted “A Little Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 4, at 3 p.m.. The church requested all interested in watching the performance donate $15 at the door.
The artistic director for the event was Pastor Jim, and the Accompanist was Jennifer Hoppe.
Another performance will be held on Sunday, Dec. 18, by the Sanctuary Choir. They will present “Love Come to Us” during the worship service at 10 a.m.
Church on the Palms is a certified W.I.S.E. Congregation. W.I.S.E. stands for Welcoming, Inclusive, Supportive, and Engaging congregation.
The church said it started the process of becoming certified with the United Church of Christ Mental Health Network (UCC MHN) in January 2020.
Church on the Palms aspires to be one that cares for the whole person: body, heart, mind, and soul.
