Compass Church invites junior high and high school students to The Landing, the student ministry under Celebrate Recovery.

The program mirrors the same outlined process of Celebrate Recovery's 8 Principles and the Child-Centered 12 Steps.

The Landing meets regularly. This month's first meeting is on Aug. 5, Friday, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Student Ministry, The Landing

As shared on its website, Compass Church hosts another student ministry, The Landing. The ministry is established to guide younger generations.

Since the church partnered with Celebrate Recovery, The Landing welcomes all young people who may be struggling with pain, hung-up, or habits. Furthermore, the ministry aims to empower students to face and manage their emotions, deal with past and current pain, and discover freedom from struggles within their lives.

Students will nurture their relationship with the Lord through faith-based practices, biblical principles, and service. Eventually, a stronger connection with God will provide a path for emotional and spiritual healing.

The Landing meets at Compass Church-West Auditorium. It starts with dinner at 6 p.m., and a large group follows at 7 p.m.

The next meeting for this ministry is on Aug. 12, Friday, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

About Celebrate Recovery

As per its website, in 1991, Celebrate Recovery began at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California. It started from John Baker's vision the Lord had given him for this program.

John Baker wrote to Pastor Rick Warren about the vision. Pastor Warren's approval and go signal to Baker gave birth to Celebrate Recovery.

As shared on the website, the first night of Celebrate Recovery had 43 people in attendance. It started with Four Open Share Groups and grew to 14 groups today.

More than 27,000 had gone through the program in Saddleback Church. Those people are now serving in Celebrate Recovery and the Church. Its first ten years were its birth stage.

From those years, Celebrate Recovery grew to what it is today. According to its official Facebook page, Celebrate Recovery is now in more than 35,000 churches.

These churches are found across the globe.

Cool Summer at Compass Church

Last June, the church requested its congregation to help in its Cool Summer Initiative. As announced on Facebook, the initiative included cooling down its campus.

According to Compass Church, financial gifts would enable it to do many projects within the church that would provide shade and comfort through the hot summer.

Earlier in July, Compass Church extended its gratitude to its congregation through its Facebook page.

The church acknowledged its members' outpouring generosity as they donated cases of water. Compass Church exceeded its water bottle goal.

It shared how excited it is to bless its ministry partners and community in need this summer with some extra water. Moreover, the church reminded its congregation to keep their donations of water bottles coming.

This August, the church informed everyone that the congregation donated over 1,000 water bottles for those in need. Once again, Compass church appreciated everyone who contributed to its Cool Summer Initiative.
