Dayspring United Methodist Church (UMC) created a new ministry called Spiritual Activists Greening the Earth (SAGE) to head the congregation in making environmental efforts.

The church encouraged its congregation to participate and support SAGE. as it begins its missions and goals this January.

Spiritual Activists Greening the Earth

Dayspring United Methodist Church and SAGE invited everyone to join its missions and help them achieve their goals for 2023. It introduced the ministry and its purpose through its newsletter

The church stated this newly created ministry targets to honor and protect San Francisco Peaks as a sacred place.

SAGE seeks to responsibly care for the Lord’s creation by working for environmental health and justice.

Additionally, the mission includes all people and life inhibiting the Earth.

The ministry's work is intrinsically connected to other Dayspring missions.

The missions are the giving garden, youth ministry, and social justice projects that benefit people across the country and the globe who are affected by environmental changes.

SAGE is also intrinsically connected to Sunday’s Explorer Class. Currently, the class is discussing Eco theology.

It is a transformational study of the Christian imperative to address the current and urgent environmental crisis. Dayspring United Methodist Church is hopeful that its congregation will fully support S.A.G.E. as it works on its missions and goals.

The church stated SAGE is looking forward to working with the entire community this new year.

SAGE missions will focus on five areas: worship and liturgy, education, buildings and grounds, community engagement, and faithful advocacy.
