According to the House of Refuge website, the organization has been breaking the cycle of homelessness since 1988. They added that they offer more than transitional housing. They train individuals to lead people’s lives, allowing them to break free from homelessness.

In addition, they noted that they could shelter 35 men starting in two-person rooms on our main campus. The website stated that their program lasts one year, wherein participants join together for dinner on weeknights and attend Bible Study.

Besides, they said that male participants join the Celebrate Recovery program. As further mentioned, permanent residents in good standing can take advantage of further therapeutic services such as dental and vision programs.

Programs for Women

The website highlighted that they could shelter seven women in private apartments and homes. They explained that each lady shares a bedroom with another and eventually would move to their bedroom in a home.

As further explained, House of Refuge offers the same program to their female participants.

On the other hand, those women with kids have private apartments with one to two bedrooms, as noted on the website. They posted that they currently serve 25 families.

The website said the program for mothers and their kids lasts up to two years. The organization offers a kitchen for meal preparation for the residents and food boxes if necessary.

Mothers also participate in various training like Life Skills classes and Celebrate Recovery while their kids are cared for by the organization’s child care.
