Grace Scottsdale worked with South Scottsdale Presbyterian Church and other local organizations for Thanksgiving Day 5K- walk, run, or ride, which was held on Thursday, Nov. 24, from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. The event supported the Scottsdale Day Relief Center.

Thanksgiving 5K, Turkey Trot

As stated on the website, Turkey Trot was intended to be a fun and kid-friendly event for the entire community. There were no timing, medals, or bibs.

Grace Scottsdale invited all to join and enjoy the food and pre-feast exercise.

Turkey Trot was held at South Scottsdale Greenbelt.

It was a free event, but the organizers asked for donations of new, unopened adult-sized socks, underwear, or t-shirts for neighbors who visit Scottsdale Day Relief Center.

On Mondays, Scottsdale Day Relief Center serves the community in need at South Scottsdale Presbyterian Church. The church serves around 40 homeless neighbors every week.

The church said it offers a place to rest, physical resources, food, showers, clothing, and access to the CВI Navigator Team. The homeless get needed identification and avail of referral to behavioral health services. Lastly, they are referred to possible long-term housing solutions.

Grace Scottsdale shared that Turkey Trot was a success. The partnership gathered many donations – socks, underwear, and t-shirts. The church also reminded all that they can still drop off donations at South Scottsdale Presbyterian Church on Mondays.

It will accept donations between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. The organizers, through its website, shared an Amazon wish list of items it needs.
