Grace Walk Church held a meeting about their upcoming mission trip in Kenya on Thursday, Feb. 23, via Zoom.
The church’s website announced they would send a team to Kenya, Africa, from July 12 to 27. They added that the members would have the opportunity to experience Kenya’s rich culture and influence people in Nairobi.
Besides, the group would have the chance to enjoy a two-day safari.
According to the website, the cost per member is about $2800 plus an additional $1,500 for the two-day safari.
Supporting Missionaries
In another section, Grace Walk Church mentioned that they are very active in the mission field by helping missionaries regularly. They noted that they support Rev. David and Mrs. Jennifer Hatley, Christian Ministries in Africa (CMIA) in Kenya.
Moreover, they help Kim and Josie Pensinger in the Dominican Republic and the N.A.N.A Ministry of Pastor Ramon and Theresa Montoyo in Nogales, Mexico.
Story of Mission in Kenya
On the same website, they revealed that Hadley started their service in Africa with one church plant in 1985. They emphasized that the couple has been “faithful with the little,” and God blesses them much.
The website said that their territory of ministry significantly increased since they the time they started. They added that CMIA operates over 250 Kenyan-led Church on the Rock congregations.
As further noted, the church planting ministry has also traveled over into the African nations of the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republics of Uganda, Burundi, Rwanda, and Tanzania.
In addition, CMIA also navigates the Four Grace Children’s Centre Orphanage Homes. They said that campuses for health and HIV/AIDS-infected kids and rehabilitated boys living on the streets live in the orphanage.
The website revealed that these shelters care for over 170 orphaned and neglected children.
Christian Ministries in Africa
The Christian Ministries in Africa website states that they are a non-profit group registered in the United States. Their headquarter is in Nairobi, Kenya, and has a lot of ministries all over East Africa, as noted on the website.
Besides, they highlighted that Hatley’s ministry has grown over the years and has churches around six African countries.
CMIA emphasized that they exist not for income but for the outcome.
In another section, CMIA stressed prioritizing establishing churches in unreached places.
They explained that 75% of African Church on the Rock congregations are in their headquarters nation of Kenya, but they still desire to grow in places without churches.
As further stated, they continue to view local churches planted, which leads them to achieve their goal of reaching out to more individuals with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
CMIA’s Beliefs
The CMIA’s homepage posted the primary beliefs of the Church on the Rock Africa (COTRA). They pointed out that they are built to worship God in the fullness of His Word to give Him glory.
Moreover, they believe that they are witnesses of the death, burial, and resurrection of their Lord Jesus Christ.
They noted that their pastors would rely on the Holy Spirit as they deliver the message of the gospel of Jesus.
Also, they emphasized that they believe in the mission of going to the ends of the earth to proclaim the Good News.
