Grace Walk Church will start a series on mental health on Sunday, March 12.

The church’s website noted that devotionals would be available to help members fight for mental and emotional health.

Devotions on Mental Health

Grace Walk Chruch shared devotions on The Bible website to acquire a healthy mindset and emotions. They provided prayers for seven days, as mentioned on the website.

The website stressed that God has remedies for depression, worries, stress, and suicidal thinking. They believe that Christians and unbelievers are the same in terms of facing depression and other mental and emotional diseases.

They emphasized that there is hope in Jesus as He promised and provided a prosperous life. The website notes that this life is filled with joy, purpose, and peace.

The Day One section mentions searching for hope and starting the fight. As further discussed, more than 253 million prescriptions of antidepressants were distributed to individuals in the United States alone in 2010.

Moreover, the number continuously rose by 30% yearly, as revealed on the website. The website explained that depression and anxiety do not exempt race, age, belief, status, or stages of life.

They emphasized that an all-out war is being raised worldwide on mental and emotional states. The website pointed out that it is time for the church to deal with it.

More than just reading

According to the same website, the war for mental and emotional health is not simply about reading the Scripture and praying more. They explained that there are spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical aspects to complete recovery and liberty.

The website emphasized that many great leaders and prophets in the Bible lived through moments of despair, depression, and discouragement, but God still used them.

It explained to those experiencing depression that they are not alone, their faith is not broken, and God is still for them. They added that God wants to walk with them in victory.

The Bible website noted that they would focus on various areas in life they could fight for mental and emotional health.

Fighting for Heart

The Day Two Section focused on Fighting for Your Heart. In this devotion, they asked readers who takes control of their hearts. The website explained that people often delegate the accountability of the atmosphere of their hearts to other people or things.

As further noted, some people rely on their hearts' condition to their spouse, friends, parents, and the outward situations in their lives. The website emphasized that people have to fight for their “hearts.”

They highlighted the Scripture in Proverbs 4:23, which says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

The Bible website discusses that mental and emotional wealth flows from the heart. They added that people often quickly protect their houses, cars, and material things but overlook their hearts.

Moreover, they revealed that David demonstrates a great model to follow in Psalm 24 amidst his depression. The website emphasized that people should not destroy their emotions but learn to praise God despite them.
