The Ben Hill United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia has reopened its church on Palm Sunday.
In a Facebook post on Friday, April 15, the Ben Hill United Methodist Church announced its reopening on Palm Sunday.
On Palm Sunday, the reopening of its church was a joyous occasion, according to the church’s post.
The church also thanked everyone who joined in-person and online.
The Ben Hill United Methodist Church said it wanted to see the church members on Easter Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in person and digitally on our regular platforms to celebrate the Resurrection.
Masks must be worn at all times when receiving in-person assistance, and a digital or physical card proving full immunization must be presented, according to the church.

Ben Hill United Methodist Church’s History
Methodism created a new field of operation known as Wesley Chapel in the Niskey Lake section of Fulton County, Georgia, in the year 1853, according to the church’s website.
The church said David Waits, John Waits, and Sidney Robins were among the founding members. David Waits was a well-known singer-songwriter.
According to the church, he was both the camp meetings' and the church's Chorister.
The congregation was made up of a small group of devout and consecrated men and women who were dedicated to God's service, the church said.
A post office was established near Campbellton Road and Fairburn Road after the Civil War. Ben Hill was named after Benjamin Harvey Hill, the new United States Secretary of State. Senator from Georgia's Troup County, according to the church.
Senator Hill was a famous orator in his day, and the community benefited from his name, the church’s website.
Church’s Vision
A vision statement was written to better reflect the life and work of Ben Hill's people and ministries, according to the church.
Each Vision Area embraces a component of the vision and allows to have a deeper understanding and application of the broader mission as the church continues to live out its vision. The new Vision Fusion and icons will make it easier for the public to understand where each ministry is located, as well as the new Vision Area designations.
In-person Worship
Only in-person Worship and member-only Funeral Services will be held at the Church in the interim, according to the church’s website.
As the Ben Hill United Methodist Church approach closer to a full reopening, Sunday School, Bible Study, and Ministry & Administrative meetings will all take place remotely.
The church asked people to keep giving by text, online, through the Ben Hill app, or by mail, according to the Ben Hill United Methodist Church.
The congregation may also place offerings in the offering receptacles as they exit the sanctuary at the conclusion of the worship service.
All portions of the church are in conformity with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regulations and protocols to protect the multi-generational families in our village, according to the church.
At all times, properly worn masks (covering your nose and mouth) must be worn. A physical or digital card must be presented at the Check-in Desk as proof of complete vaccination (booster suggested). Vaccination is required for all children aged 5 and up.
