The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta is set to hold a Christmas parade on Sunday, Dec. 5.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Nov. 20, the First Presbyterian Church announced that it will hold the "Greatest Christmas Parade Ever" on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m.

According to the church's website, the church encouraged the public to join in the journey to Bethlehem.

The First Presbyterian Church said this interactive tour would take families across Ansley Park, pausing at four driveway areas to participate in various aspects of the Christmas journey.

Each family should sign up for one of the timed groups listed, according to the post. In preparation, the families will be given thorough instructions on what to expect.

The church, however, noted that advanced registration is required.

Atlanta First Presbyterian's Service Worship

The First Presbyterian Church said the new schedule of events would include everything the church offers, from weekly Sunday services to concerts and small groups.

The Atlanta Design Museum, Union Theater, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Atlanta Opera, and other local art organizations, according to the church, are all within walking distance.

The Intergenerational Advent Festival will be placed on Sunday, Nov. 28, at 10 a.m., according to a Facebook post from the First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta on Wednesday, Nov. 10.

According to the church, the celebration, also known as "hanging of the greens," will include Advent crafts, festive caroling, breakfast goodies, and fellowship.

It also stated that the liturgy for the Advent wreaths would be sent home with the participants.

American Songwriters

The First Presbyterian Church of Atlanta hosted a memorial service honoring live American songwriters on Sunday, Nov. 14.

According to a Facebook post from the First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Nov. 3, the Atlanta Chamber Players returned with a tribute performance for live American composers.

According to the church, the international premiere of Benjamin Krause's "Notes From Inside," the National Finals winner, took place in January 2021.

Shared experiences during the coronavirus illness (COVID-19) epidemic also inspired the church.
