Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church holds meet, greet 'Pumpkin Patch' festivities

The Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, held a meet and greet "Pumpkin Patch" festivities during its team building activities on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Oct. 18, the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church announced that Pumpkin Patch was held on Tuesday at 2 p.m.

According to the post, the participants were encouraged to wear face masks to have safe interactions with old friends and meet new ones.

The church said it also welcomed fellow retirees from the past years who have made the church their home.

Glenn Church earlier advised the attendees to bring money to purchase pumpkins to support the Glenn Youth missions. They said the participants enjoyed the Autumn weather during the pumpkin patch festivities.

Youth Development

According to the church's website, the Glenn Youth seeks to provide a safe atmosphere for students in grades 6 through 12 to be themselves, ask questions, have fun, and learn.

The church also understood the importance of youth development and worked to create an atmosphere that facilitated it. It also underlined the need to develop mutual trust and connections.

The Glenn Youth welcomes, accepts, and accepts all people, and it works to help others in our community and around the world.

Fellowship

According to the church's website, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meets in the Youth and Activities Building most Sunday nights from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

The church's event included sharing a meal, preparing pupils for choir, and providing enjoyable sessions for middle and high school children. They will also have fellowship and learn more about loving God and neighbor, which are typical activities on a regular night.

According to the church, the youth also consistently participate in the worship service by acolyting, scripture reading, and leading the congregation in singing.

The bright youth choir leads the church in worship. According to the statement, it goes on a bi-annual choir tour under the guidance of its Choir Director, Michael Dauterman, and Associate Director, Käthe Wright Kaufman.

Meanwhile, Glenn Memorial said the confirmation focuses on learning and questioning essential Christian theology, the call to discipleship, and the distinctive United Methodist heritage and perspective.

According to the statement, confirmation will provide youth with the opportunity to study, ask questions, make friends, and have fun.

The church said participants are not required to become church members; instead, they are encouraged to study God, faith, and the church with an open mind. The seminar is for rising seventh graders and up.
