This October, the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has called volunteers to join in its youth pumpkin patch.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Oct. 16, the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church said the youth pumpkin patch is open from Oct. 14 until Oct. 30.

The church said everyone is welcome to join in unloading the pumpkins and volunteer to sell them. Free pizza will also be provided for any volunteers that help unload pumpkins that day, it added.

However, the Glenn Memorial noted that volunteers and participants must wear face masks to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

The church said it was open most days until all pumpkins were sold out. Interested participants and wish to see more information written in this article may visit the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church's Facebook post.

Glenn Youth

According to the church's website, the Glenn Youth aims to provide a safe environment for grades 6 through 12 to be themselves, ask questions, have fun, and learn.

The church also recognized the importance of youth development and promoted an environment that encourages it. It also emphasized mutual trust and connection building.

The Glenn Youth is inviting, accepting, and accepting of all people, and it strives to assist others in our neighborhood and around the world.

The United Methodist Church is concerned about the community's health and safety, and it is actively monitoring the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic and taking precautions to prevent the virus from spreading.

Youth Fellowship

According to the church's website, the United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meets in the Youth and Activities Building most Sunday nights from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The church said the event held sharing a meal, having students prepare for choir, and providing sessions for middle and high school students to have fun. They will also have fellowship and learn more about loving God and neighbor, examples of a regular night.

Meanwhile, the Glenn Memorial bared that confirmation focuses on learning and examining core Christian doctrine, the call to discipleship, and the unique United Methodist tradition and perspective.

Youth who choose to participate in confirmation will have the opportunity to learn, ask questions, make friends, and have fun, it added.

The church said participation does not imply that adolescents must commit to becoming church members; instead, they encourage youth to study God, faith, and the church with an open mind.

It added that the class is for rising seventh graders and up.

The Glenn United Methodist Church said the service worship[ is an essential aspect of Glenn Youth's identity. It is dedicated to growing God's kingdom by loving our neighbors and serving locally and globally, focusing on local partnerships.

The youth also consistently participate in the worship session by acolyting, scripture reading, and leading the church in song, the church said.

Under the direction of our Choir Director, Michael Dauterman, and Associate Director, Käthe Wright Kaufman, the brilliant youth choir leads the church in worship and goes on a bi-annual choir tour, it added.
