Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church’s  Roots

There are around 11 million United Methodists worldwide, according to the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.

According to the church, social duty and faith have long been entwined for United Methodists.

The church also gave examples of how it interacts with different Christian faiths and religions and upholds an ecumenical tradition, including its collaborations with Emory University's Office of Spirituality & Religious Life.

According to Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, John Wesley, an Anglican priest working for the Church of England in the 1700s, is responsible for the congregation's beginnings as a United Methodist one.

The church asserted that the growth of "Methodist" organizations was due to its members' consistent attendance at religious services and volunteer activity.

The societies later traveled to Ireland and eventually America, where in 1784 the church formally acknowledged them as a distinct denomination.

Jesus Christ’s Disciples

According to the church, the best way to change the world is by making disciples of Jesus Christ.

The church said the vision Scripture offers to everyone is the fullness of God's rule and realm throughout the entire world.

According to the church, the United Methodist Church declared that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior of the world, and the Lord of all.

It stressed to its followers that it valued members of all faiths and supported their ability to practice their religion in accordance with their personal convictions.

The church reaffirmed its belief that every individual is fundamentally significant and worthy of respect, just like Jesus.

The church claimed that everyone is invited to participate in the community's full existence and mission, regardless of color, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, familial or socioeconomic status, education, politics, physical or mental capacity, or religious background.

In order to establish God's kingdom and dominion in the world, Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church's mission is to share the good news of God's grace and uphold Jesus' teaching to love one's neighbor as oneself.
