In a Facebook post, the fundraiser was called “Dine Out for a Cause: City Barbeque-Decatur," which was held all day on Sunday, Aug. 21.
The church post said that the money raised goes toward the Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church fundraiser for Intown Collaborative Ministries, which assists Atlanta neighbors experiencing food and housing needs.
Everyone was welcome to join for a Service Learning program on Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m., according to the church.

Christian Community
A firmly established and expanding Christian community called Glenn can be found on the Emory University campus in Atlanta's famed Druid Hills district, according to the church's website.
Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church said its congregation is made up of people of all ages, ranging in age from 2 to 102.
It added that it provides ministries that encourage a sense of community and belonging for everyone through worship, service, instruction, and hospitality.
As a Christian community, they are dedicated to loving God and loving others with all of their heart, soul, mind, and strength, according to the church.
The church said it thinks that everyone has intrinsic worth and dignity as a part of God's creation, just as Jesus loved those around him.
Regardless of color, culture, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or socioeconomic status, education, politics, physical or mental ability, or religious background, they welcome all people into the entire life and ministry of the community, the church said.
Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church added it can trace its roots as a United Methodist congregation to John Wesley, an Anglican priest serving in the Church of England in the 1700s.
Societies of "Methodists," so named because their members adhered to a daily schedule of religious observance and charitable work were established.
These societies later moved to Ireland and eventually to America, where they were formally recognized as a separate denomination in 1784, according to the church.
Today, there are around 11 million United Methodists in the world, it added.
Church’s History
On the brand-new Emory University campus in Druid Hills, 57 people came together to declare their intention to form a Methodist church on January 11, 1920, according to the church.
Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church said Bishop Warren A. Candler, the brother of Coca-Cola Company founder Asa G. Candler, delivered the sermon on that particular day.
It added that the Emory University Methodist Church was originally established on February 15, 1920.
As they work to develop disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world, Glenn is, has been, and will be a place of openness and acceptance, according to the church.
The church said they may God lead them as they work to become a community of faith committed to loving God and loving one another in the future.
