In a Facebook post on Friday, Dec. 3, the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church announced that it launched an Advent-Neighbors national advertising campaign to invite communities to connect with hope and joy in the United Methodist Church this Advent season.

The church's United Methodist Communications, the denomination's global communications agency, has launched an Advent-Neighbors national advertising campaign to help those seeking an escape from the holiday blues and a connection to the genuine source of joy and love.

Social media paid search, and display advertisements will all be used in the campaign. People will be led to one of two limited-time landing sites at UMC.org/Joy or UMC.org/JoyEnFamilia to begin their journey with the United Methodist Church.

According to the church's website, the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church is compromised with nearly 800 churches, more than 1,300 clergy members, and approximately 340,000 lay members.

They seek to develop principled Christian leaders, engage in ministry with the poor, improve global health, advocate for justice, respond to disasters, and fulfill the denomination's mission: "To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world."

The website stated that it is currently the United Methodist Conference's largest in the United States.

The North Georgia Conference is a United Methodist Church regional body. Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson oversees the North Georgia Conference, which is divided into eight smaller geographical divisions known as "districts."

Atlanta is the Conference's headquarters. The North Georgia Annual Conference brings together laity and clergy from the North Georgia Conference for business and worship once a year, usually in June.
