Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church calls students, families for Christian education class this fall

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has called students and families a Christian education class every Sunday morning.

According to the church's website, the Christian education class will start with a mini-rally at 9:45 a.m. in the chapel every Sunday morning.

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian said that Rachel and Gabby Paterson would teach kindergarten to Grade 3 participants. The church said they would meet under outdoor tents in the front yard if there were no inclement weather.

Meanwhile, Matt Kim and Donna Poseidon are assigned for Grade 4 to 6 students. According to the church, they will meet under outdoor tents in front of the yard if weather permits.

The church will collaborate with the Covenant, Emory, and North Decatur Presbyterian Churches for the youth confirmation starting November.

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian said a class would also be available for nursery attendees starting at 9:45 a.m.

It added that adults would have a word bible study in the chapel.

Blood Drive

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church is looking for volunteers to participate in a blood drive on Wednesday, Oct. 20.

The Presbyterian church welcomed interested volunteers to participate in the church's next blood donation drive on Wednesday from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., according to its Facebook post on Tuesday, Sept. 28.

According to a Facebook post from the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, the shifts will last no more than two hours.

The church said volunteers would greet donors when they arrive and enroll in the blood donation campaign.

Meanwhile, the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church said that volunteers would restock snack tables and clean up after donations.

During the blood drive, two volunteers are needed at a time, according to the church.

The Presbyterian Church also recommended that the blood drive be held in the Fellowship Hall of the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church.

Worship Service

According to the church's website, those who attend the worship service at the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church will experience deep hospitality, opportunities for growth, a call to serve, and a sense of belonging.

The church announced that its Sunday worship would be webcast live on Facebook at facebook.com/opcbrookhaven at 11 a.m.

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church stated that the general public is welcome to attend.

Those with a temperature of more than 98.6 degrees or any other COVID-19 symptoms, such as cough, shortness of breath, runny nose, fever, loss of smell or taste, or diarrhea, would be recommended to stay home according to the church.

All use of the areas, according to the church, must be coordinated in advance with the church office at office@opcbrookhave.org.

According to the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, social spacing must be maintained at all times, with people standing at least six feet apart and avoiding physical touch.

Meanwhile, the church recommended the people use the equipment provided by the church to sterilize any surfaces touched, including indoor bathrooms, before leaving.

The staff of the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church will be encouraged to work from home in the future. They will, however, be allowed to return to the office as needed, according to the church.
