The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, hosted a yin yoga practice and relaxing meditation in its chapel on Friday, Sept. 24.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Sept. 21, the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church announced that the yoga practice returns in the chapel on Friday.

The church said yoga instructor Douglas Johnson led the yin yoga practice and a relaxing meditation and little Kirtan singing.

According to the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, the yoga class is accessible for the public, including beginners.

Worship Service

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church believes that those who attend the church will find deep hospitality, opportunities for growth, a call to serve, and a sense of belonging, according to its website.

The public is welcome to attend the church, its website stated.

Meanwhile, the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church said its Sunday worship is live-streamed at 11 a.m. on its Facebook page at facebook.com/opcbrookhaven.

Earlier services can be found at opcbrookhaven.org/worship-at-home, according to the church.

Church Welcomes Children in Sunday Worship

As some families want to bring their children to church with them, the church stated.

The church said that children are also welcome to play in the sanctuary's play area.

Children's books and portable desks with crayons are available in this play area, which may be carried anywhere in the sanctuary. The nursery at the church is always available, yet it is never required.

Every Sunday, a child care professional and at least one Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church will volunteer to staff in the nursery.

The church underscored that the child protection policy applies to everyone who works with children.

According to the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church, children from the nursery are taken into the sanctuary for the time with young disciples.

The church worship service begins at 11 a.m. and typically lasts an hour. As those participants enter the sanctuary, an usher will direct a bulletin outlining the order of worship, the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church stated on its website.

The church also projects the worship information if the participants would prefer to follow along on the screen.

The ushers and greeters are happy to answer any questions the participants might have about the worship service, the church wrote on its website.

Oglethorpe Presbyterian's COVID-19 Protocols

Everyone, regardless of vaccination status, will be obliged to wear masks, according to the Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church's coronavirus disease (COVID-19) guidelines.

While the church is confident in the COVID-19 vaccination, it does not want to take any chances, especially since the vaccine is not yet available to its youngest members, the church stated its guidelines.

Speakers in the chancel will be able to take off their masks while speaking, it added.

The Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church said any gathering in the chapel that exceeds 50 individuals and compromises social distancing will be relocated to the sanctuary.
