The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, will hold its annual Choral Evensong service on Sunday, Nov. 7.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church said that the Chancel Choir and the Georgia Boy Choir would present its annual Choral Evensong service as the celebration of All Saints' feast.

According to the Facebook post, the Methodist Church said it is one of the "most beautiful and meaningful services" each year.

The church said it is a rare occasion to focus solely on the meditation of the participants' hearts, allowing the prayers and praises sung by the choir.

The church's post read that it will be held on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. with the organ recital of Käthe Wright Kaufman,

The Choral Evensong will follow the recital at 5 p.m., the church added.

Concert for 20th Great Organ Anniversary

The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church organized a concert to commemorate the Great Organ's 20th anniversary last Sunday, Oct. 24.

According to the church's events Facebook page, a concert honoring the Great Organ's 20th anniversary was held on Oct. 24 at 7 p.m.

The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church said Oliver Brett would play the organ, while Scott Atchinson would direct the orchestra.

It was also revealed that the orchestra is made up of musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.

According to the church, the highlights will include Poulenc's Concerto for organ, timpani, strings, Handel's Organ Concerto, Op. 4, No. 4, and Widor's entire Symphony No. 5 for organ.

Great Organ

According to the church's website, the Peachtree Road Chancel Choir, and orchestras conducted by Robert Spano, performed for the Great Organ's formal opening last Nov. 10, 2002.

The church shared that the Organ Recital Series, which featured Olivier Latry, Richard Webster, Kent Tritle, Johannes Unger, and Huw Williams, maintained their inaugural engagements throughout 2003.

According to the website, the Peachtree Road is blessed to have this magnificent instrument lead the church in praise during weekly worship.

The church welcomed the public to celebrate The Great Organ's 20th Anniversary by attending the particular event and encouraging guests to bring friends to share in the joy of music.

The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, staged its annual Halloween festival on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

The Methodist Church hosted a "Trunk or Treat" on Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Harp Parking Lot. According to its Facebook post, Tuesday, Oct. 19, beginning at 7:00 p.m. from 7:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The church also called those who were interested in hosting the event might contact Brittany Charron at brittanyc@prumc.org.

The church also urged public members to wear face masks to safeguard those who are most vulnerable.
