The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church has set to hold a concert for the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Great Organ on Monday, Oct. 25.
In an events Facebook page shared by the church, it will hold a concert celebration for the 20th anniversary of the Great Organ on Oct. 25 at 7 a.m.
According to the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, Oliver Brett will play the organ, and Scott Atchinson will conduct the orchestra among the musicians.
The orchestra is composed of musicians from the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, it added.
The church said among the featured works will include Poulenc's Concerto for organ, timpani, and strings, Handel's Organ Concerto, Op. 4, No. 4, and Widor's complete Symphony No. 5 for organ.
Worship and Music
According to the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church's website, the church has been given a truly spectacular space, and it only fits that similarly magnificent music is performed there.
The Peachtree Road United Methodist bared that through the Friends of Music's generosity, it brings nationally and internationally renowned artists, including The Tallis Scholars and Chanticleer.
This year, the church celebrates the Great Organ's 20th anniversary with a series of performances and recitals.
The church underscored music can profoundly touch the hearts and souls of the people.
They explained that the series is an excellent way to enrich one's life through the energy and beauty expressed through a live performance.
Interested participants are welcomed to celebrate with the church and encouraged to invite friends to share in the gift of music.
Great Organ
According to the church's website, the Peachtree Road Chancel Choir, the Cathedral Choir of St. Philip, and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Robert Spano, performed during the Great Organ's formal inauguration on November 10, 2002.
The church said that the Organ Recital Series, including Olivier Latry, Richard Webster, Kent Tritle, Johannes Unger, and Huw Williams, continued the inaugural engagements throughout 2003.

The city of Atlanta is currently under a mask mandate, according to the church's website.
In Atlanta, all people, both vaccinated and unvaccinated, who attend indoor meetings must wear masks, the church said
Every Sunday, the church's clergy, choir, and other worship leaders will greet visitors wearing masks.
All persons were educating and caring for unvaccinated children, according to the church.
The church also encouraged the public to put on face masks to protect the lives of those who are most vulnerable. Those who have not been vaccinated are encouraged to consider speaking with their healthcare physician to determine what is best for themselves and their loved ones.
