Saint Mark United Methodist Church called for donations and volunteers until Thursday, March 23, for the upcoming Community Easter Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza.

The church’s Facebook page announced they will hold the event on Sunday, April 8, in the Midtown Community.

Donations Needed

Saint Mark Church requested members to give treats for wrapped candies. They noted that they advised the members not to provide non-chocolate treats.

In addition, those interested could send the candies directly to the church by dropping them off during church office hours on Sunday mornings in the Narthex.

Besides, they posted that they would only accept candy donations until Thursday, March 23.

Call for Volunteers

Moreover, the church encouraged its members to participate in the program by helping them prepare.

According to them, they need volunteers to help greet visitors during the event. Also, the church is looking for a Balloon Animal Artist and members who would be in charge of the popcorn machine.

Children’s Ministry

The church’s website emphasizes that its ministry for kids offers education, fellowship, and worship opportunities. They explained that they accommodate children from zero to grade five.

As further stated, the entire congregation, including parents and teachers, serves and shares blessings with their children during the school year and in the summer season.

Lent 2023

In another section, the church encouraged its members to participate in various activities they prepared for this year's Lenten Season. They emphasized that as a church, they would “Journey with Jesus.”

They noted that they started an Ash Wednesday service on Feb. 22. They invited the congregation to attend the Easter Sunday service on April 09. They explained that they offer physical service and online.

As added on the website, they open an opportunity for members to join the Sunday school, which is for all generations, from nursery to adults. As the website mentioned, this activity is an excellent way for them to feel loved and accepted.

Lenten Activities

The same website noted that Saint Mark United Methodist Church had conducted learnings about Grace, Compassion, and Priority in the past weeks.

On Sunday, March 26, Rev. Carolyn Stephens would preach about Mercy, as posted on the website.

During the Holy Week, the congregation would learn about Courage and enjoy Choir Concert with Orchestra during their 11 a.m. service. Besides, that church would host a service on Maundy Thursday at 7 p.m.

In addition, they invite members to witness the Ecumenical Midtown Stations of the Cross on April 7 at 1:30 p.m. Then, they announced that they would have another service in the evening.

More importantly, they would have various programs on Easter Sunday. They announced they would have a Sunrise Worship Service and receive the new members to Saint Mark United Methodist Church.

The website noted that the members would have Easter Sunday Brunch after their morning service.
