The Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has shared photos and documents from Saint Mark Pride Celebrations.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, Oct. 7, the Saint Mark United shared selected submissions of photos over the past year's celebration of the Saint Mark Pride.
In the series of photos shared, the church featured its Pride celebration in 2010, with a theme of "Over a Century of Acceptance," the Saint Mark United Methodist Church added on its Facebook post.
The church said it has a great group march over the Pride parade celebrations. They also expressed happiness that the church members are continuously growing since then, the church wrote.
Meanwhile, Saint Mark United called for more photos, videos, or documents submissions from the church's pride celebrations in the past. They can be emailed to Matthew at mcesari@stmarkumc.org.
Atlanta Pride Cancellation
According to a report from Fox 5 Atlanta, the Atlanta Pride has postponed all in-person activities for the second year in a row due to an increase in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Delta variant cases.
The Atlanta Pride Committee announced on Facebook that the 2021 Pride Festival and Parade, which will take place in Midtown and Piedmont Park in October, will be fully digital, according to the report.
The newspaper included that the decision was made after officials consulted with the community's public health professionals.
According to the article, all in-person events for the festival and parade in 2020 have been scrapped, with the focus shifting to virtual events during Atlanta Pride.
LGBTQ History Month
The Saint Mark United Methodist Church has also celebrated the first day of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) History Month on Saturday, Oct. 2.
On the first day of history month, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church shared a heartfelt message for LGBTQ+ community members in a Facebook post on Saturday.
According to the church, this month is a time to honor the LGBTQ+ community's accomplishments and strength. It also acts as a countdown celebration for pride celebrations, according to the statement.
The Saint Mark United Methodist Church stated it would also celebrate the 30th year of the church's involvement with the pride event by highlighting its history.
The Methodist church has also requested photos, videos, documents, and fascinating narratives from previous pride festivals, including Saint Mark's history.

The Atlanta Methodist Church is particularly excited this month to celebrate the rich history among Saint Mark United Methodist Church members.
According to a Facebook post on Tuesday, Sept. 28, the Saint Mark United Methodist Church also displayed a stunning mural tribute to the Atlanta Pride's 50th anniversary. They expressed their pride and gratitude for being represented in the artwork.
According to Saint Mark, the work was commissioned by the Dad's Garage Theatre and the Consulate General of Canada.
Meanwhile, the painting was dedicated by the Atlanta Methodist church to the LGBTQ+ community for their efforts to make Atlanta a welcoming city for all.
