St. Paul United Methodist Church in Atlantia invites public to provide assistance to affected people in Ukraine

The St. Paul United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia invited the public to provide assistance to affected people in Ukraine amid Russian invasion.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, March 5, the St. Paul United Methodist Church announced that all donations donated are used to provide direct help to Ukrainians.

According to the church, they can donate in any of the ways listed and write a check to St. Paul United Methodist Church and designate it for Ukraine, or give online under the Love Offering and specify Ukraine here.

The church said this fund will provide direct support to Ukrainians in the country as well as Ukrainians migrating to neighboring nations.

It added that gifts to help the people of Ukraine can be contributed in the following ways, according to a Facebook post from St. Paul United Methodist Church.

Churches Appeals for Aid, Prayers for Ukraine

During the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, has donated humanitarian relief to those who have been affected.

The Peachtree Road United Methodist Church announced on Facebook on March 9 that it was sending crucial, immediate humanitarian relief to Ukrainians.

The church stated it collaborated with Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church, which has strong mission ties in Ukraine and gives direct financial support to two United Methodist churches in Kyiv and Lviv that provide food, shelter, and transportation for refugees fleeing the catastrophe.

It also stated that they are in communication with a United Methodist Church pastor in Kharkiv, one of the worst-affected cities to yet, in order to better understand their current needs.

The Emory Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, requested prayers in the middle of Russia's escalated invasion of Ukraine.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Feb. 26, the Emory Presbyterian Church advised people to pray to God while they are going through difficult times.

The last two years have been extraordinarily difficult in many respects, as the general public is well aware. On this beautiful sunny February day, according to the church, we are witnessing the horrors of war.

The people of Ukraine and Russia, as well as all those suffering from injustice, the pandemic, or other challenges and losses compounded by the world's brokenness, break my heart.

The Peachtree Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia, invited the public to join them in prayer during the height of tensions between Ukraine and Russia.

In a Facebook post on Saturday, Feb. 26, the Peachtree Presbyterian Church urged people to pray for peace in the middle of the Ukraine turmoil.

St. Paul United Methodist Church’s History

According to the church's website, the St. Paul United Methodist Church is located in Grant Park, one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods.

The crossroads of Grant and Sydney Streets has been a focal place for prayer, communion, and community for 115 years, according to the church's website.

The United Methodist Church places a premium on minds, hearts, and doors that are open.

St. Paul provides worship and a variety of Sunday classes on Sundays at 10 a.m. Children are welcome at any time, according to the church's website.
