The St. Paul United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia encouraged the public to share life experiences in the church’s Lent series.

In a Facebook post on Monday, Feb. 21, the St. Paul United Methodist Church invited the public for those who would be prepared to tell us about different places in their lives where they have felt God, places where they have been in awe of people or of God, places where we fear or dread.

According to the church’s post, Lent is usually described as a pilgrimage. "God bless your Lenten journey!" they said.

The church said the members write "Bless now, O God, the journey that all your people make" in its newsletters, and sing "Bless now, O God, the journey that all your people make." And it's true: Lent is full of movement.

It explained that the Transfiguration takes Jesus from the mountain to the desert temptation, then into Jerusalem, the cross, and resurrection.

The Lenten journey, they pray, will parallel Jesus' and help adapt their lives to Christ's life, death, and resurrection, according to the post.

Asked on what if Lent isn't only about going somewhere? What if Lent is also about being in a fixed location? It will be focusing on places for Lent this year, according to the St. Paul United Methodist Church.

They ask to let the church know if they are willing to tell more about some of those experiences.

According to the church, the first episode of this series will begin on March 6.

Donating Goods

The St. Paul United Methodist Church has invited the community to show their love by contributing items to the church's ministries.

The church announced in a Facebook post on Tuesday, Feb. 15, that the public can demonstrate their love by bringing canned items to contribute to Intown Collaborative Ministries for individuals who missed out on Valentine's Day.

There is still time to drop off donations outside of the Sydney, St. Dr. at St. Paul United Methodist Church, according to the church's post.
