St. Paul United Methodist Church holds in person worship on Sunday

The St. Paul United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia held an in-person worship service on Sunday, Feb. 6.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Feb. 4, the St. Paul United Methodist Church announced that it held an in-person worship service this Sunday at 11 a.m.

The St. Paul United Methodist Church has also released the following guidelines:

·        Masks must be worn within the building. They advise wearing KN95 masks. They advocate double masking for those who do not have these masks.

·        The nursery is open to children in Kindergarten and up.

·        Children must wear a surgical mask at all times. If a parent does not have one, the church will supply one for their child.

·        During the Omicron Surge, the church will suspend Cookies and Conversation.

·        Those who are sick are encouraged to visit the church's official Facebook page, where it will be streaming the worship service live.

·        Please notify the church office at cassie@stpaulgrantpark.org for those who test positive in the days following service.

·        Please be patient with the church as it adjusts to its new normal.

Oldest Neighborhoods

According to its website, the St. Paul United Methodist Church is located in Grant Park, one of Atlanta's oldest neighborhoods.

The intersection of Grant and Sydney Streets has been a focus of prayer, fellowship, and community for 115 years, according to the church's website.

The United Methodist Church values minds, hearts, and doors that are open.

Sunday Classes

At 10 a.m., St. Paul provides worship and a variety of Sunday classes on Sundays. Children are welcome at any time, according to the church's website.

From 10 a.m. until 12 p.m., there is also a nursery for infants and toddlers.  It's on the third floor, at the back right corner of the gym. Infants and toddlers are welcome in the nursery. On Sundays, the church has a fantastic childcare staff that enjoys spending time with other children.

Meanwhile, starting at 10 a.m. Children's Sunday School is held in the gymnasium until 10:50 a.m. The event is open to all students in grades three to five. The St. Paul's gym is located on the third floor.

School Children Program

In commemoration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy, the St. Paul United Methodist Church volunteered at the Andrew P. Stewart Center's after-school children's program.

The church stated on Facebook on Tuesday, Jan. 18, that it had packed food bags for the children's after-school program. They did some basic yard maintenance and prepped a five-unit apartment building that is ready to house several families.

In a separate Facebook post, the Andrew P. Stewart Center thanked the congregation for their time celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life and legacy.

The center expressed its gratitude for the community's continuing support and service.
