On Tuesday, Feb. 15, FEC United gathered its members of about 100 people in a local church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Led by its founder Joe Oltmann, he insisted that allegations against its organization were not true, and most of these stories were only made-up.
FEC United Joe Oltmann: ‘I Never Called for the Death of Anyone’
On Thursday, Feb. 10, FEC United experienced controversy over their town hall meeting at The Rock Church in Castle Rock, Colorado. As reported via Crossmap, one of the speakers at the time was Shawn Smith.
He had an alleged contentious comment, which was quoted by 9News, wherein he said that current Secretary of Colorado State Jena Griswold should be hanged over her reported involvement in election fraud.
Now, FEC United founder Joe Oltmann denied all these claims, as reported via the Colorado Times Recorder. He said at Fervent Church on Tuesday, Feb. 15, that he did not wish for anyone’s death in their last meeting. He also protected Smith in his speech, saying that he might have been misconstrued in his statement of suggesting hanging for Griswold.
Oltmann explained that Smith only said that because “‘The law states that if you’re found guilty (of treason) that you should hang.’” Thus, pointing out that Smith did not say anything wrong in his past statements against the Secretary.
In his longer statement, Oltmann also shared that when other people accused them of “lies,” they have to “use that thing that God gave you: your voice.” He said that people will use guns and violence once they do not use their voice.
He concluded with, “That’s not a joke. That’s not calling for violence. That’s the realization that children are worth it, and there are plenty of fathers out there who are willing to fight tooth and nail for their children.”
Another Church Involved
The Rock Church, where the first meeting was held, already denied any connections with the FEC United. However, the Fervent Church in Colorado seemed to be the new and permanent meeting place for the organization.
As reported via Colorado Times Recorder, the Tuesday meeting was led by Fervent Church’s own pastor Garrett Graupner. Graupner has explained multiple times that he attends FEC United meetings as a “civilian,” not the pastor of the church. Thus, defending its congregation of their possible different views as a church.
In the last meeting, Pastor Graupner promoted FEC United’s main advocacy of “radical conservatism” and warned attendees, mostly Republicans, to be vigilant of those politicians who go against their beliefs.
The report said that the local pastor faced controversy initially for saying that now-President Joe Biden had an illegitimate election. Other political leaders and Republicans who joined the Tuesday meeting were El Paso County Sheriff candidate Todd Watkins, candidate for El Paso County Clerk and Recorder Peter Lupia, and State Rep. Dave Williams. Both of which are running for specific positions in the government.
