The Flatirons Church has called on parishioners to pray for the victims of the Colorado wildfire.

The Lafayette-based worship house also encouraged them to pray for the first responders.

This came after a massive wildfire raged through the northwest metro Denver towns on Thursday, Dec. 30.

Significance of Prayer

According to its website, the church reiterated the importance of sending prayers.

The Flatirons Church claimed that prayer is the "first and most important thing" people can do.

The worship house urged the faithful to dedicate prayers to those who suffered a loss. It also asked them to pray for those impacted by the Colorado wildfire.

"Pray for the coming months as we start to rebuild," the Flatirons Church further stated. "Pray for the first responders who worked around the clock while their own homes were at risk."

The faith community said that people must ask for God's mercy. This mercy would reportedly give them "unique opportunities to be the Church."

Church Sets Up Fire Relief

As per its website, the church has organized a Boulder County Fire Relief assistance.

Furthermore, the worship house said that those who need assistance must inform the church.

The Flatirons Church urged them to fill out the fire relief form. This form would reportedly allow the church to cater to their needs.

Aside from the fire relief, it also recently launched the gift card drive for the wildfire victims.

In addition, the church noted that it accepts gift cards at several establishments. People may donate the said gift cards to all campuses and offices of the church.

The Flatirons Church suggested that people give gift cards to Walmart and Target. It also recommends people donate gift cards to Costco and Sam's Club.

Apart from that, the church also reportedly accepts gift cards to several local restaurants.

Additionally, it stressed that individuals might contribute to local agencies and organizations.

"They're already in contact with people in need and the communities impacted," it pointed out.

The Flatirons Church recommends the following local agencies and organizations:

  • Boulder Office of Emergency Management
  • American Red Cross
  • Sister Carmen Community Center
  • Serve 6.8

'Be the Church'

The local church has invited parishioners to help communities in need and "just be the church."

It claimed that this is what the faith community must do. The church said that it is about time that people take care of those in need.

The Flatirons Church emphasized that serving the community is the essence of the Church.

Meanwhile, it also announced an initiative that aims to give housing to the victims.

The church called on people to support the housing initiative of Airbnb. This program reportedly seeks to help displaced individuals in times of crisis.
