Antoinette Parks was just 17 years old when she was killed. A little more than four decades later, a Denver detective was able to crack her case.

Her brother, one of her remaining family, wants to hear the answers with their other surviving sibling living in Arkansas.

'Only God Knows Why He Did This'

In an interview with Denver7, George Journey, the brother of Antoinette, said that their family had suffered immense grief over a long time.

Trying to find the answer for decades and not being able to have the justice they want for their murdered sister was painful. When the detective called Journey to give the good news, he could not believe it.

He then said, "Yesterday when I found out, I cried, I spent three hours crying to myself ... knowing that they finally found who did this," Journey said. "Why my sister? Why her? Can't explain it. Only God knows why he did this."

Not understanding what or why it happened, he was happy upon receiving the news and thankful for the case having been solved after a long time.

George planned to hear the details with his other sibling, who will come from Arkansas.

Unfortunately, their other siblings were already deceased. Journey also said in the report that he is saddened that they passed away before they were able to know the answers.

Girl Loved by Those Around Her

In the report, George recalled Antoinette as someone loved by many.

Antoinette reportedly went to a school in Aurora called Gateway High school. She sang with a beautiful voice and was a part of the school choir and a member of the music club.

She was fond of children and was going to be a mother herself. Her plan to finish school after giving birth never came to reality. She was 17 and 7-6 months pregnant at the time of her murder.

An article from Cases493 gave details from the information provided by Adams County. It seemed that Antoinette was having a problematic relationship with her boyfriend.

After discovering that Antoinette was carrying his child, he got allegedly aggressive with her. Her boyfriend was several years older than her wanted for her to abort the child. Antoinette refused because she wanted to keep the baby.

Journey said there was one time the boyfriend drove by their house and shouted that Antoinette was a whore.

On the day of her murder, Antoinette went to her boyfriend's house. The boyfriend claimed that they had an argument, and Antoinette left. Journey did not believe him because his sister would not go on foot with that much distance while pregnant.

That day, she was found with 23 stab wounds in her body. She was reportedly thrown near a trash bin and found by the garbage collectors. Her body was beaten, and her womb seemed to be the target of the stick that was thrust up inside her, according to details in the article.
