Power to the Parents

According to the Eventbrite post, the Power of Parents event is scheduled for Sunday, Mar. 12, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. MDT.

It will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 8035 South Quebec St, Englewood.

As mentioned, the rights of parents are the most fundamental and essential of all rights.

The church said the parents would be educated and mobilized with the laws and precedents that support their rights from the home to the classroom and learn how to exercise those rights effectively.

Tamra Farah, event host and senior advisor for strategic partnerships with freedom work parents know best, will discuss Parental Rights Intensive.

A Millennial Moms Story– Parent Pushback on Woke-in Schools will be discussed by Christine Yeargin, and Parental Rights: The Legal View by Nikki Neily, president of Parents Defending Education.

The event will also have a Parent Panel: Fighting Back Against School Overreach. Parents Erin and Jonathan Lee, as well as Brecken and BJ Jones, will participate in the discussion, which was moderated by Lori Gimelshteyn, executive director of the Colorado Parents Advocacy Network.

Additionally, critical guidance for parents, provided by an expert panel regarding parental rights, will also be moderated by Tamra Farah with Nicole Hunt Esq., a spokesman for Focus on the Family; Jen Gibbons, founder of Heritage Heights Academy; Alex Campana, America First Policy Institute; and Pam Benigno, director of the Education Policy Center at the Independence Institute.

It became increasingly evident to the spiritual shepherds of the Boston Archdiocese that other churches and clergy needed to be provided for once sparsely settled areas as the communities surrounding Boston grew in size and population.

Religious institutions had previously underserved these areas. Therefore, on Apr. 27, 1938, His Eminence, the late William Cardinal O'Connell, created the Parish of St. Thomas More in Braintree.

Parishioners of St. Francis of Assisi in South Braintree and Sacred Heart in East Weymouth, the two parishes from which St. Thomas More was built, had been attending services at St. Francis of Assisi and Sacred Heart, respectively, before St. Thomas More was established.

The renowned English lawyer who lived at the time that King Henry VIII of England was in power inspired the selection of his name for the newly established parish, which was given in his honor.

As mentioned, St. Thomas More was canonized in 1935 by Pope Pius XI, who referred to St. Thomas More as the "Martyr of the Papacy." Within the Archdiocese of Boston, our congregation is the only one of its kind to bear this name.

On Apr. 21, 1938, Rev. Thomas A. Flynn, now known as Msgr. Flynn, serving as the pastor of St. Mary in Waltham, was the first pastor of the newly established parish.
