Pastor David Stocker, Jr. of Brave Church in Miami is under scrutiny over allegations of extramarital affairs with church members.

Church Money Funded Affair

The Miami New Times reported that in a lawsuit against Pastor David Stocker, Jr., he took the woman to New York for tourist activities, staying at a luxury hotel, and taking pictures together.

The allegations came from the 307-page lawsuit from the Peninsular Florida District Council (PenFlorida) of the Assemblies of God organization.

It said that Stocker violated the church bylaws by engaging in sexual relations with at least three known congregants, using the church’s credit card to fund at least one of the aforementioned affairs.

PenFlorida investigated the pastor and found him guilty of the deed, adding that some of the extramarital affairs happened while the pastor was still married to his now ex-wife.

The organization said that the woman that Stocker brought to New York came to them and provided them the messages, photos, and videos that would prove the affair.

The defendant’s counsel, Attorney Kristin Ahn, released a statement, saying that matter has reached an amicable settlement.

She also said that the church is still affiliated with the organization and the denomination but did not say the same for Pastor Stocker.

The report said that the pastor joined the church in 2014 as a youth pastor.

Furthermore, the lawsuit also alleged that the pastor abused alcohol and acted erratically on numerous occasions.

The church has removed the booking page of Stocker.

Brave Church – Miami

Miami’s Brave Church calls itself a church that “exists to lead people to love people.” It has two locations, Brickell and Westchester.

The church sums up its mission and vision in three words, “lead to love.”

The church follows the example of Jesus Christ, aiming to serve and not to be served.

For the church, what’s important is that all its actions are dedicated to Jesus and that it spreads love to the world, the city, and the community.

Community is important for the church, and it has ministries that reach out to children, the youth, young adults, and adults.

Also, the church holds dinner parties to let people connect, pray, and meet new people.

Peninsular Florida District Council

Peninsular Florida District Council oversees and serves the peninsula of Florida. It also has a reach in the US Virgin Islands and the British Virgin Islands.

There are over 300 churches and 1,300 ministers under the organization.

As a member of the Assemblies of God denomination, the council exists to train ministers, plant churches, work with local fellowships, and more.

The organization started in 1925 when the Southeastern district disbanded into several new districts. At the start of the organization, it only had 28 churches and missions in the district.

Ever since its foundation, the district has been served by fourteen superintendents. Today, Terry Raburn leads the district.

As a member of the Assemblies of God, it follows the “Statement of Fundamental Truths.”

This includes the belief in the scripture as inspired by God and that there is only One True God, among other things.
