Music at McBride Plaza

According to Miami's Community News, a concert will be held at the Christ the King Lutheran Church every Sunday in March from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

It will reportedly feature great artists, some of whom regularly perform at the church. The event will be held so the community can enjoy an afternoon of lovely music.

As mentioned, the performances will include jazz from Brazil performed by Sambalele on Mar. 5, pop and folk music performed by "Strings Attached" on Mar. 12, rock and roll from the 1960s and 1970s performed by Adele and Harmony, and jazz from the classic era performed by the Mason Zeigler Band on Mar. 26.

Each week brings something new to experience because of the varied musical selections.

During those concerts, attendees are encouraged to bring their chairs or blankets and have a picnic; everyone is welcome.

About Christ the King Lutheran Church

On Christmas Day in 1961, Christ the King Lutheran Church was formally established as a congregation and given its charter.

Carston Ludder, the founding pastor, served as pastor until 1987 when he passed away.

Christ the King is currently the largest Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Miami.

It was initially established as a Mission Development congregation of the previous Lutheran Church in America for the southern part of Miami-Dade County. Angela Uhler, an architect, was responsible for the design of the current sanctuary, which was constructed in 1975.

Moreover, the church believes that it is the responsibility of the church to spread the Good News and lead people to become disciples of Christ.

They believe that the Church of Christ should place a high priority on the task of creating disciples inside their local congregations, within their towns and nations, and throughout the entire world.

Also, the church is committed to upholding the ecumenical creeds and the consistent witness of the church throughout history and all of space.

They agree with the structure and customs of the universal church, which is in line with the teachings of the Bible, most notably the ministry's office and the time-honored practice of worshiping through Word and Sacrament.

The church is interested in discussion and friendship with other Lutheran churches and genuine Christians of different confessions. They aim to engage with other religions respectfully.

It affirms that the faith handed down from the apostles is centered on Jesus Christ and the Holy Scriptures and recognizes the Bible as the infallible source and standard "according to which all beliefs should and must be judged."

They uphold its status as the authoritative source (Formula of Concord) and believe that the ecumenical creeds and the Lutheran Confessions are reliable witnesses to the Bible, and we embrace them as such.

In addition, it has ministries to fulfill its mission, which includes community groups, community outreach, congregational groups, music, and youth ministries.
