The First United Methodist Church of Miami has events for the weekend for its congregation.

First UMC of Miami Weekend Events

According to the church page, it has a “Young Adult Beach Day” from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 24, at Crandon Park. In the announcement, the church said that attendees could expect fellowship, games, and a cookout.

For the next day, the church has a “Brunch Chapel” at the Latin Café on Miami Beach, where people can share a meal together in fellowship.

The church advised those interested to contact Amber Kupfer if they are attending either of the events.

First United Methodist Church of Miami

On its page, it says that the First United Methodist Church of Miami is a church that welcomes people to have a relationship with God and the church.

Every Sunday, the church provides an 8:30 a.m. chapel service and morning worship at 11 a.m. at the sanctuary of St. John’s on the lake.

As for beliefs, the church believes in the Trinity, commonly known as the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It also calls God the Creator, Redeemer, and Sustainer.

The church believes that Jesus Christ, because of his death and resurrection, has made it possible for humanity to receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life.

Further, the church follows the Bible as its primary authority of faith and practice and says that it should be studied by each Christian for a better understanding and deepening of their spiritual lives.

It added that similar to other Protestant churches; it follows Baptism and Lord’s Supper as it is the sacraments wherein Jesus Himself participated.

As for baptism, the church practices infant baptism and baptism for anyone who has not yet been baptized by any Christian denomination. Likewise, communion from the church is available to anyone.

History of First UMC of Miami

The First United Methodist Church of Miami came into being with the merger of the Trinity Methodist Episcopal Church and White Temple Methodist Episcopal Church in 1966. Because of its long history, the church has had over 85 ministers and associates serving the congregation over the years.

A church for the community, it is also the first Protestant congregation for Hispanics and the church that was important to the creation of the Biscayne Manor Retirement Home. Further, the church was the first to introduce a Hot Meals program that is not a Federal project in the city.

  1. Audrey Warren

On its church page, it says that Rev. Audrey Warren is the current Senior Pastor of the church. She is a Florida Native who has served the Branches United Methodist Mission before taking up the post in First United Methodist Church Of Miami.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Florida Southern College and a Master of Divinity Degree from Duke Divinity School. Also, she holds a Doctorate of Ministry from the Wesley Theological Seminary.

Apart from all of her degrees, she is an experienced missionary who has served not just in different states but even in South Africa.
