Haiti Mission

According to the denomination’s page, the Miami Haitian Church of the Brethren in Florida Eglise des Freres Haitiens Miami sent eight missionaries for mission work from July 16-25.

The report said that the missionaries worked with the local Brethren church and the Church of the Brethren in Haiti to make the mission possible.

It also took note of the fact that there were areas that were not safe or accessible to the missionaries because of ongoing political and economic issues. Thus, the members came to the area.

The missionaries worked on revival services, mass weddings, baptisms, dedications, door-to-door visits, and other programs with the motivation to spread the Word of God and make people accept Jesus Christ.

The report mentioned that this was the second mission that the church sent, with the last one in 2019. It also said that the church is looking forward to having a continued partnership with the local chapter to make it an annual event.

Apart from the missionary work, the church is also focusing on the physical aspect of missions. Currently, the church is planning to send its outreach has continuously collecting clothing and school supplies to send to the country.

Church of the Brethren

The Church of the Brethren calls itself a community that chose to live the way Jesus did.

The church has been serving God and the world for more than three centuries and continues to do so. According to the denomination, it strives to teach its members to live peacefully, simply, and together.

The page also said that the church follows the acts of baptism, communion, feet washing, and anointing as its practices. These practices reflect the church’s desire to follow the example of Jesus while serving and growing as a community.

Its long history started in 1708 in Europe at a time when the church looked down on religious dissenters. The denomination credits Alexander Mack, who created a small religious community in Schwarzenau, Germany.

As per the church page, the church experienced a life of persecution during those times, but the group that called themselves “brethren” continued to grow as it developed its own identity outside the state religion.

By 1719, the denomination came to the country and started a decade-long diaspora. By 1723, the organization had already established its presence in Germantown, Philadelphia.

Fast Forward to the 2000s, the church already had a hold in various states in the country. Furthermore, it has already reached out to countries such as Brazil, China, Nigeria, and South Korea, just to name a few. Apart from the church’s ministries, the church has various conferences, initiatives, and other programs that provide members with the opportunity to continue growing in God while giving back to their respective communities.

Currently, there are hundreds of thousands of members in the country and millions worldwide.
