For Marci Davis, serving the community has always been her mission. Davis believes in paying it forward in whatever way she can.

Busy Schedule

In a report with Click Orlando, Davis said that she has a lot on her plate. Not only does she run a business, but she is also the operations manager at Celebration Tabernacle Church.

No matter how busy Davis is, she told the news outlet that she always makes time to help those in need. She believes in paying it forward in the community that has become a part of her life.

She also volunteers for the Cocoa Police Department. The nonprofit owner believes that her mission does not change, no matter her role.

Davis explained that her mission has always been the same — helping people.

As mentioned, she is part of the police department's Volunteer Citizen Observer Program (VCOP).

As one of its volunteers, Davis regularly checks on senior citizens and business owners. She explained that it meant the world for many older people to know that someone was looking out for their welfare.

She added that she always makes sure that she greets the seniors with a smile whenever she goes out for her regular checks.

Davis shared that seeing their faces light up was one of the job's perks. She added that it was a rewarding experience to work with the people in her community.

As one of the VCOP, she is trained in her work. She also works with police officers to help with traffic control.

Serving Community

Davis is also the owner of MND Concepts, a firm that specializes in bookkeeping and tax preparation. She also oversees operations and maintenance at Celebration Tabernacle Church.

As a native of Cocoa, Davis said that it makes her proud to see her community thrive. She grew up in the neighborhood, and Cocoa holds a special place in her heart.

Davis explained that she always makes sure to help the community whenever she can. She said that these do not have to be great things. Something as small as saying comforting words could already make a positive impact.

She also has a nonprofit, Relief Center Brevard. The organization mentors teenagers and offers counseling to grieving families.

Davis explained that there was a need to help the youth in the community. Many of these children went to the same church she manages.

She told the news outlet that she treated these young people like her children. They always held a special place in her heart.

Making Impact

Cocoa Police Chief Evander Collier IV commended her efforts for the community. He told the news outlet that he had nothing but admiration for her.

He added that her sacrifice and commitment to helping the youth impacted the community.

"Every time I see her, she always has a pleasant atmosphere about herself," Collier pointed out. "She does such a great job, and I'm very proud of her."

Davis is the recipient of the VCOP of the Year Award in 2021. Collier said that her win was well-deserved.

According to Florida Today, Collier presented the award to Davis during the recognition ceremony.
