The Foundation Academy recently encouraged its students to celebrate their faith by bringing their Bible to school. The Christian school invited its students to join 'Bring Your Bible to School Day' on Thursday, Oct. 7.

Empowered Through God's Word

In a report with Orange Observer, more than 500,000 students from across the country joined the bible event.

According to the school's Facebook post, school officials told the students to read their Bibles together. They said that they wanted the students to feel empowered by reading God's word.

The post also offered free Bibles to those students who did not have their own.

'Read and Treasure Scripture'

According to the Focus on the Family website, the event is a "nationwide, student-led movement to read and treasure Scripture as God's Holy Word."

The website noted that the Christian communications ministry started the movement to help families "thrive in today's culture."

It also said that the campaign encourages others to have hope in Christ. The event reportedly allows people to celebrate their religious freedoms in the country.

As added, students of all ages can join in the movement.

Through the event, the organization said that students would feel "empowered to speak God's grace and truth in the culture around them."

Powerful Voice of Hope

According to the website, more than half a million students also joined Bring Your Bible to School Day in 2020. Out of those numbers, 50,000 schools from across the U.S. participated in the nationwide event.

The website said that students from private or public schools signed up for the movement.

Aside from promoting reading the Bible, the event also reportedly encourages Christian students to be a "powerful voice of hope at their school."

The Focus on the Family website cited stories of young people in the Bible, such as Daniel and Esther, who took a stand for the truth.

In line with that, the youth are also urged to help protect religious freedoms for other students.

Importance of Scripture

Jim Daly, the head of Focus on the Family, wrote an opinion piece for Fox News. He shared the story on the importance of Scripture in the life of a young person.

Daly told the story of Perry, a 17-year-old high school student from Colorado. He said that the young man brought his Bible to school every day.

Unfortunately, the young kid's faith was tested when his mother was diagnosed with cancer. Perry reportedly looked to the Bible for peace and strength.

"And now he wants the freedom to talk about that spiritual strength with other classmates," Daly said.

The CEO of Focus on the Family stressed that it is vital to "empower the next generation." He said that children should not hide their faith, especially in today's world.

According to Daly, the nation's Judeo-Christian heritage protects their right to live out their faith without fear of punishment.

The CEO concluded that the world should follow the example of young people like Perry, who has a "simple, yet powerful portrait of courage."

He hoped that the young man's story would remind Americans of the principles of civility and free expression.
