Orlando Magic superstar Jonathan Isaac has always been vocal about his faith and how it shaped him as a person. He recently met with a group of campers from the Youth Basketball Camp.

Future of Basketball

In a report with the NBA, Isaac shared his excitement for the future of basketball when he met the 75 campers. He added that seeing their enthusiastic faces brought joy to his heart.

The NBA star spent an hour that Friday afternoon with the youth group. He spoke to the children and answered their questions.

Isaac also took pictures with them and even did a few drills with the kids. He explained that he had fun surprising the Orlando Magic youth basketball camp kids.

Inspiring Young People to be Better Citizens

Isaac always made it a point to deliver inspirational messages to the kids. He always believed that teaching children about work ethic and teamwork would help them become better people.

He shared that work ethic and teamwork helped his journey in the league.

Isaac shared that every basketball camp that he attends is always an exciting experience. He explained that children were always fun and bubbly to be with, so being with them was never a boring experience.

The basketball star encountered some trials in his life when he tore his anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee on Aug. 2, 2020.

He is yet to return to court as he continues his recovery.

Isaac told the news outlet that despite these trials and tribulations, he always has faith to fall back on. He added that he faces these challenges head-on.

"The light is at the end of the tunnel now," he pointed out. "I'm feeling great. I can see it, and I'm just pushing every day."

Isaac spends most of his days working out at the gym. He also takes time to observe many summer league training camp practices.

He has also watched a few of the team's games in Las Vegas.

Respect for Healthcare Industry

In a report with NBC News, Isaac drew criticism when he became one of the NBA players who refused to take the COVID-19 vaccines.

He explained that he was not an "anti-vaxxer" or against science. Isaac told the news outlet that he did his research on Black history and listened to former Pres. Donald Trump's press conferences.

Isaac found that Dr. Anthony Fauci was somebody he distrusted. He also warned that people should be careful in putting too much faith in human beings. In this case, Isaac meant those scientists responsible for developing the vaccines.

He clarified that he had nothing against the scientists or those in healthcare. Isaac shared that his mother worked in the industry and that he respected and admired them.

Isaac also said he was thankful for being part of a society with vaccines that would save lives.

He pointed out that getting the vaccine was not the only way one could protect themselves from COVID-19. Isaac counseled the faithful, saying that God called them to be wise in their decisions.
