Orlando Magic forward Jonathan Isaac announced that his upcoming book "Why I Stand" will soon be available for pre-order. Isaac took to Twitter to thank those who made it a reality.

Book on his Faith and How it Shaped Him

According to his Twitter post, 'Why I Stand' speaks of his beliefs, how his life has changed, and why he chooses to share it.

He told the news outlet that the book highlighted his experiences and faith. The 24-year-old stressed that his faith shaped who he is today.

Isaac also credited his faith as a Christian that changed his perspective on the world. He pointed out that it was important for him to stand for his beliefs because times have changed.

The Orlando Magic forward noted that the country needed men and women willing to stand up for their rights. Isaac stressed that freedom of thought and personal medical decisions were being violated.

He also stressed that one should hold on to their biblical values and courage. The NBA star hoped his book would inspire others to take the stand as he did.

The book goes on sale in May.

Supporting BLM movement

In a report with The Daily Wire, the NBA star explained why he was one of the only NBA players who stood when the national anthem was played during the July 2020 demonstrations for the Black Lives Matter Movement.

The article said that other players knelt at the time. Isaac, who has always been vocal about his faith, explained why he chose to remain standing.

According to an article with Fan Nation, while his fellow NBA players showed their support by kneeling during the national anthem, Isaac was one of the first to choose not to. He explained that it was his faith that informed his decision.

Isaac said that kneeling or wearing a black T-shirt did not go hand-in-hand with supporting black lives.

He stressed that Jesus Christ has always supported his life. Isaac emphasized that everyone was created in God's image and likeness.

Instead of kneeling, the NBA star opted to pray. He also denounced hate crimes, saying that people hated each other when they should not.

He also said that people tended to point fingers at the evilest.

Isaac said that it was up to them to accept God's grace and build a relationship with Him. Isaac is an ordained minister and has donated to causes that help eradicate food insecurity.

On COVID-19 Vaccines

The fan-favorite also became the center of the NBA's vaccine discussion when he announced his refusal to take the COVID-19 vaccine.

He clarified that he was not anti-vax, anti-medicine, or anti-science. The basketball star stressed that he came upon the decision on his views.

Isaac said that his mother has long been in healthcare, so he had the utmost respect for them.

He was thankful to God that he lived when vaccines were available to the public. Isaac stressed that he was not ashamed to be ridiculed for his beliefs.
