A local church in Pennsylvania recently invited a former Florida pastor to speak about the Bible.

Who Is Rico Brown?

Starting from Sunday, Nov. 7 until Thursday, Nov. 11, the Brookville church of Christ will host several talks about the Holy Bible and its power amongst people.

According to The Courier Express report, Rico Brown, a former Florida pastor, was invited to speak at the event. Currently, the pastor leads the congregation at Virginia Avenue Church of Christ in Chester, West Virginia.

But, before he left Florida, he first spent time in Daytona Beach. There, he served as a youth minister at the church of Christ at Beville Road. Aside from that, Brown also led the congregation of the church of Christ on ML King Boulevard.

Above all those churches, one thing that made Florida special for Pastor Brown is the school where he graduated. In the report, the pastor said that “his greatest educational achievement thus far” happened at Florida School of Preaching (FSOP) in Lakeland, FL.

For him, despite getting other degrees, he still preferred to study and finish his degree at FSOP.

Brown to Share Stories About Lord’s Work

Church’s host minister Randy Metheny said that Brown was chosen due to his wide experience in the ministry. The PA pastor noted how Brown’s “wealth of Bible knowledge and experience to the service of God” would help their community.

He also said that everyone is invited to the five-day event. Based on its invitation letter, all visitors who will attend will be their ‘honored guests.’

Mainly themed as ‘Always Abounding in the Work of the Lord,’ the five-day event will compose various talks. On Sunday, Nov. 7, the church held its morning and afternoon worship events.

It was then followed by its Monday seminar entitled, ‘Let us Go On.’ After that, the church will mark its Tuesday gathering with a ‘Wake up Everybody’ event. For the last two days, the Fall Gospel Meeting will tackle seminars entitled ‘Growing in God’ and ‘Who Snuffed out your Fire?’

Unfortunately, there was no clear direction on whether Pastor Brown will be speaking in the entire five-day meeting. But, based on the Brookville church of Christ’s Facebook page, the ex-Florida pastor already spoke last Monday.

As said on its page, those located within Brookville are encouraged to attend the remaining days in the event. Meanwhile, those people who prefer to watch Pastor Brown’s lectures online could head to their Facebook page for streaming.

According to the report, the videos are also available on the www.countrypreacher.com website.

Pastor Brown’s Transition From Florida to West Virginia

As per the official webpage of Virginia Avenue Church of Christ— where Pastor Brown now leads, the pastor first joined the congregation in 2016.

His wife, Latisha Parker, and two kids, Laila and Anthony, also moved to Chester. Before Brown decided to move out of Florida, the Virginia church had already established its name.

Since 1936, the church building was already built for parishioners. Now, the church continues to spread the Word of God.
