Cross Roads United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Arizona has called for scripture readers.

On Sunday, July 17, the church announced its call via its Facebook page. 

According to the church, they are looking for individuals to read scripture for Sunday morning worship.

Church’s COVID-19 Update

According to the Cross Roads United Methodist Church’s website, it is dedicated to maintaining the health and safety of its employees and the welfare of the neighborhood as a top concern, the following choices have been made such as Sunday services are held live in person at 9:30 a.m. using COVID safeguards.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the worship website or use Zoom or Facebook Live to access virtual services.

Reconciling Church

Cross Roads United Methodist Church is an open and accepting congregation that embraces diversity, service, unconditional acceptance, and the care and support of all persons in the name of Jesus Christ, according to the church’s website. 

The church said it is a reconciling and inclusive community of faith. 

Those of every race, ethnicity, language, age, physical or mental ability, gender identity, sexual orientation, political affiliation, socioeconomic class, marital status, history of faith, as well as those battling mental illnesses and addiction, are all welcome to participate in ministry and worship with the congregation, according to the church.

Church’s Mission and Vision

The church’s website said people from various areas of life converge at Cross Roads United Methodist Church, a varied, loving, and caring congregation, to strengthen their bonds with one another and with God.

Cross Roads United Methodist Church said it is the intersection of hope, faith, and love.

Making disciples of Jesus Christ is the goal in order to change the world, the church said. 

Being in a mission with the community and the world is something they cherish much and is one of the basic principles, it added. 

The church said that for all kids, teens, and adults, they think education through Sunday School, Bible study, and other disciplines is crucial.

Cross Roads United Methodist Church also said that education through the mentioned aspects further affirms that everyone is of sacred worth without exception. 

Together, with God's love, they endeavor to advance understanding and respect for one another, according to the church. 

The church said all people who wish to know God's love through Jesus Christ are welcome in the religious community.

Singles Ministry

Among the weekly activities are prayer and adoration every Saturday at 5:30 pm in the Patio room for "Friends & Singles Time Out.”

Meanwhile, the third Saturday of each month is Saturday Supper Society at a restaurant at 4130 N. 19th Ave. Everyone will be in the dining area, according to the church.

It added that on the third Sunday, there will be a Sunset Bowl for the bowling club at 12th St. & Dunlap.
