First Christian Church Phoenix (FCCPHX) will hold the Community Work Day on Saturday, March 18.

The church’s website noted that it is a family-friendly program as they spread gravel on their job site. It posted that they would meet at the church and go to the area together.

Besides, the church reminded members to wear some good outside shoes and wear clothes for work.

Ministries

In another section, the FCCPHX highlighted its initiatives to serve its community. The website highlighted some ministries the church opens for the people. Some programs include Children and Student ministries.

As further explained, members could help in their mission to help the kids learn about Jesus and what it means to be His follower.

The church also posted some opportunities they offer its congregation to serve in the church. They noted that they could be a part of the First Impressions, where they welcome their guests and make them feel welcome on Sundays.

Moreover, FCCPHX stated that they have a Creative Arts or Worship Team that helps the congregation concentrate on their worship of God. As the website explains, they are responsible for the music, technical support, and Worship center decoration.

Caring Programs

In addition, they posted that they offer a Care Ministry because they are uniquely created to care in various ways. They said that members of this team are focused on managing for people to demonstrate God’s love.

The Reap What You Sew ministry is designed to help children’s hospitals, as the website mentions. The team also serves at veteran’s centers to offer comfort and care. They noted that they meet every first and third Tuesday of the month.

The website added that they meet every third Saturday for Blessings Day or the workday.

Go to Every Nation

Meanwhile, the exact webpage posted that the FCCPHX partners with various agencies to serve their community. One of these organizations is the Go to Every Nation (GOTEN) Training Center.

The GOTEN website explains that they serve refugees from Afghanistan, Congo, Somalia, Myanmar, and other nations to the refugee corridor.  They added that they provide free English and sewing classes to the newly moved refugees.

According to them, the training center is an excellent venue to meet an international friend. They said they are where refugees learn and meet a Christian friend.

Helpful Traning for Cross-Cultural Ministry

The website said their first step in training is to connect the refugees at the center. They pointed out they would meet other refugees while learning English, sewing, and job skills at the training center.

They emphasized that it is the best place to meet legally resettled refugees and create a relationship to give them a new concept about having a new ministry.

In addition, they explained that the refugees would be given a few months to become self-reliant. They added that the refugees at the center are willing to learn how to speak English because it is a need.

According to the website, while they teach them English skills, they also train the Church to share stories of hope.
