They will not be required to check their thoughts at the door, according to the church.
The church said the relationship with God as a part of a community of faith is perhaps the most important feature of worship.
Attendees may count on getting their spirits up through contemplative quiet moments, motivational speeches, and excellent music, it added.
Church’s Beliefs
God is establishing the welcoming community of faith involved for the twenty-first century at First Church, according to the church's website.
The church said Jesus provides sound advice for everyone to pursue their faith. It encourages poeople to love their neighbor as themselves and God with all of their heart, soul, and mind.
It added that they work to deepen the love of God and neighbor among all guests and members to experience this growing love for oneself, and join for worship, study, service, or fellowship.
Every first Sunday, communion is celebrated, according to the church. All people, regardless of their religion, church, or congregation, are welcome to partake in the meal when it is observed by United Methodists as "open communion," the church said.
The ingredients of bread and wine (or grape juice), also known as "bread and the cup," are distributed during communion.
The church said they understand the bread and wine to be representations of a body and blood of Christ, just as they understand communion to be a manifestation of God's grace.
