Northhills Church serves young men in the foster care system with Raising Arizona’s Men (RAM) every second Saturday.

The church’s website noted that its members started the nonprofit ministry to share their lives and the gospel with others.

About North Hills Church

The church’s About section emphasizes that Northhills Church seeks to love, trust, and be Jesus’ followers in their daily lives. They explained that they are focused on loving God and others.

Northhills Church does not shame, condemn, or make other people guilty, as the website reveals. They mentioned that they are comprised of imperfect people with various kinds of stories.

Besides, they said that people could come on what kind of clothes they wear and not care about their political views. Also, the church mentioned that they are a place where individuals could discover love, grace, and forgiveness that came from Jesus Christ.

As further stated, they treat each other as a family who believes in God and lives out the patterns of Jesus. They said that they walk together in their journey regardless of generation.

They added that they are together in many ways to be disciples of Jesus and to know how to disciple others.

Committed to Foster

The same webpage stressed that the church is dedicated to nurturing a family rooted in being and making disciples of Jesus. They noted that as they move forward, the church ensures that everything they do is designed to lead people to Jesus.

Moreover, as emphasized on the website, they aim to establish God’s kingdom on earth and to love Him and other people.

About Raising Arizona’s Men

The RAM website revealed that the ministry started when Renee Hanson watched a news story about a kid that had passed away while in foster care because of neglect. They stated that he was motivated to take measures.

As further mentioned, she pioneered RAM when Hanson learned that the significant need in foster care was supporting and developing the hearts and minds of young men.

In addition, the website stressed that they aim to not only guide these boys while in foster care but also to fill the gap as they adjust from foster care to adulthood. They added that they train and teach them skills while they are in foster homes.

Hearts of Golds

RAM discovered that these boys still have hearts of gold despite the trauma, instability, and inconsistencies they encountered. They believed that unless someone nurtured and protected these hearts, many would change from being influenced by negativity.

Moreover, they noted that these boys could turn away from making crucial mistakes that could affect their adulthood and severely impact future generations.

The website highlighted that RAM prays that the young men in their program will leave foster care with the understanding of the value of having a solid character. Also, they hope the boys will be self-reliant and accountable as they leave foster care.

RAM believes that the love and support they offer in their programs could help young men develop an identity supporting personal accountability and achievement. They added that these factors could make them an asset to their communities.
