Tanner Chapel AME Church in Phoenix, Arizona underscored the importance of voting ahead of the 2022 midterm elections.

In a Facebook post on Sunday, Sept. 25, the church said the midterm elections in 2022 are drawing near and the outcome of these elections will have an enormous influence on every American.

Beyond deciding who would represent the people in Congress, this year's election will be held nationwide on Tuesday, Nov. 8, according to the church's post.

The church said representatives for the state, county, and city levels will also be chosen by voters.

It said that everyone's vote will also decide how Arizona and its cities will proceed with significant topics, such as reproductive rights, women's health, and other healthcare-related matters.

Election results have an impact and each ballot counts, the church said.

Authority to Decide Important Issues

Tanner Chapel AME Church said the people have the authority to decide important issues regarding the standard of living they want for their family, community, and for themselves.

By casting a ballot, individuals have the opportunity to advocate for causes close to their hearts, such as access to affordable housing, economic justice, environmental preservation, and high-quality education.

A single vote is significantly more statistically significant when a small number of voters decide on crucial local problems due to low turnout, according to the church.

Even though certain ideas might be well-liked and consequently seem like a sure thing, if people stay at home, they might not succeed, the church said.

The church said individuals have the right and they may lose their voice when they don't vote.

It added that they had to march, protest, and struggle for their right to vote over a long period of time. Take the right, use strength, and voting provides a chance for change, the church said.

One of the fundamental liberties of American life is voting, according to the church.

Tanner Chapel AME Church said the same independence is not enjoyed by many people in other nations as it was by many Americans in earlier centuries.

No matter what people think or who they back, it is crucial to assert their rights, it added.

Families, friends, loved ones, neighbors, and kids make up the communities, the church said.

The church said some people might not understand the value of voting, while others might not be able to.

It added they decide to vote so that they may speak up for themselves and the people around them.

Church's Services

Tanner Chapel AME Church stated that under the leadership of the Rev. Dr. Benjamin N. Thomas, Sr. and with God's blessing, it established an outward ministry of Christian care.

The church said that Tanner Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit with 501(c)3 status, is responsible for carrying out these activities.

The projects of the Tanner Community Development Corporation are focused on aiding the physically challenged, the ill and elderly, the homeless, families, and children who are in need, according to the website of Tanner Chapel AME Church.

According to the church, Tanner Community Development Corporation offers the citizens of the city a wide range of services for health and housing, as well as literacy, education, financial opportunities, and jobs.
