Midtown Assistance Center

During times of crisis, MAC, a non-profit organization, provides emergency aid to low-income working Atlantans to help prevent homelessness and malnutrition, according to the organization's website.

The location of Midtown Assistance Center has changed to 613 Spring St NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30308. They are at the former Goodfellas Pizza location, which is across from The Varsity, the organization said.

Financial Assistance

MAC's assistance is only available by appointment for non-financial requests.

To make a non-financial aid request, donors may click the blue rectangle button to the right, or if using a smartphone, scroll to the bottom of the page, the organization said on the same website.

They said that its members would do their best to respond to the assistance line at 404-681-5777 in the mornings, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 12 noon, if anyone is unable to complete an online form.

The organization said regarding financial assistance at this time, Midtown Assistance Center is unable to settle sizable liabilities.

For rent and utilities, they must have a minimum of six months of paid rental history, the organization said.

If they had experienced a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020, the organization advised them to apply for the Georgia DCA program listed in the Resources section below of the website.

The organizations said they have received the maximum number of rent or utility submissions for this time period for the financial assistance application process.

Applications will ideally be available every two weeks, according to the organization.

The next application deadline will be announced a few days in advance by posting the date and time shared on the organization’s website.

The organization said to refresh and always check back to learn more about the next application deadline.

It added that it currently serves 10 zip codes in Atlanta, which are: 30303, 30308, 30309, 30310, 30312, 30313, 30314, 30315, 30318, and 30363.

At this time, they are unable to accept contributions of clothing, according to the organization.

The organization recommended that people make a monetary donation via the "Make A Donation" button rather than leaving items at the center.
