Saint Mark United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia expressed gratitude to donors for their generosity in giving food and necessity items.
On a Facebook post on Saturday, July 30, the church extended its appreciation for the generosity of the church’s July fundraiser for the Midtown Assistance Center, Inc.
They nearly filled the entire narthex with donations and including the donation bins for those who are vulnerable populations, according to the church's post.
The church said they may bring anything on this list on Sunday since it was the last day to donate any specified products in the church's shared photo.
According to the church, they will bring the donations and pass them along to the Midtown Assistance Center for their summer food pantry.
Saint Mark United Methodist Church said interested donors may also check out the last photo shared for more items needed.
The church said they will also accept new t-shirts, underwear, and toiletries for the housing-insecure.
Requested Items
According to the church’s photo shared on its Facebook post, among the requested items are the following: canned tuna, salmon, chicken, chili, Vienna sausages, peanut butter, jelly, hamburger, tuna helper, rice, and manual can openers. They also requested cooking oil, pancake mix and syrup, canned fruit, fruit juice, canned spinach, coffee or tea, beef stew, chili, baked beans or pork and beans, soup, instant or regular grits, cereal, and crackers.
Meanwhile, the church said it also needs large and extra large t-shirts, large and extra large underwear, and travel-size toiletries.

Welcome Everyone
Although they belong to the United Methodist Church, Saint Mark is distinct from other churches, according to the church's website.
The church said they seek to show the radical love of God in a contemporary setting, with the slogan and mission of "Loving, Accepting, Serving."
It added that they accept everyone looking for a religious home and have deep roots in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) community.
Everyone is loved and welcome in the church regardless of their gender identity, sexual orientation, race, nationality, age, socioeconomic class, or religious background, according to the church.
Church’s Committee
The church said the united efforts of devoted lay leadership, seasoned clergy, and tireless personnel have allowed Saint Mark to flourish.
According to the church, these are the committed laypeople who volunteer their time and skills to make Saint Mark's mission of love, acceptance, and service success.
The church said the Finance Committee at Saint Mark works on budgets, spending, revenue, donations, stewardship, and more so that Saint Mark can effectively use all of the resources that have been given to it in all of its ministries and missions.
It added that the Saint Mark's Ministry Committee collaborates with a number of talented people to design activities that are significant for the growth, service, and formation of devoted disciples.
According to the church, loving, embracing, and serving all have a place here. It added they are in charge of the Saint Mark's Vision's Connectivity and Solidarity division.
