Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, Georgia is set to hold a blood donation drive.

On a Facebook post on Wednesday, July 27, the church said the blood donation drive will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fellowship Hall.

According to the church’s post, the donors must not forget their photo ID and rapid pass.

The church said all donors will receive a $10 e-gift card of choice and a whole-year chance at gas for $6,000.

Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church said they may make appointments, then download blood donor applications. Another, they may also visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: OPCBROOKHAVEN.

Call for Volunteers

Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church has also called for volunteers to assist in the blood donation drive.

The church said the following shifts will be 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., and 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. They require two volunteers each shift. 

According to the church’s website, volunteers assist with space setup, donor check-in, making sure water and snacks are available, and asking donors to sit and eat afterward.

Everything else will be handled by the Red Cross, the church said. 

The church added that they may also register using the link to sign up.

Oglethorpe Presbyterian Church also advised them to visit the church’s website for additional information.

Ministries

The church said has its own ministries, namely Deacons, Work Days, and Oglethorpe Presbyterian Preschool.

The elected deacons provide pastoral care to the church by praying, providing meals, sending cards, providing rides, facilitating home communion, and leading special worship services.

Following this, Work Days supervise occasions that assist in maintaining the security and beauty of the church grounds. It also offers a range of chances for different ability levels.
