Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in Atlanta, Georgia announced that its chancel choir is in its final week of preparation.

In a Facebook post on Tuesday, July 26, the church said the chancel choir will prepare for its choral residency at St. Patrick’s Cathedral Dublin.

According to the church’s post, the chancel choir intended to carry on the tradition of spreading their music to people all around the world.

In the same post, the church said they will go to St. Patrick's Cathedral Dublin from Aug. 1, Monday, to Aug. 7, Sunday.

The church said they traveled earlier to St. Paul's Cathedral, Westminster Abbey in Italy.

It added that they want to repeat their performances to spread their music.

According to the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, the services will be live-streamed through a link on its Facebook page.

In an earlier Facebook post, the church also requested assistance and support from the general public for their musical objective on the July 17 preview concert for the pilgrimage to Dublin.

Church’s COVID-19 Experience

According to the church’s website, the Peachtree Road United Methodist Church and its community are creating their "new" normal alongside the rest of the globe as they work through the COVID health crisis. This event has never happened in the last 100 years.

The church said their experience of living in solitude when a large portion of the world as people knew it abruptly ended has realigned all expectations for the future and their relationships with one another.

Peachtree Road United Methodist Church said it requested feedback from a few of its staff and members regarding their experiences.

On the same website, the church said they made a wonderful, considerate, and amusing contribution.

They tell a story of perseverance, from an 89-year-old who survived World War II and the polio pandemic to a high school senior who did not have the year she had hoped for to a Peachtree Road United Methodist Church property team member who cared for a hauntingly empty church structure every day, according to the church.

The church said the people are finding their ways amid challenges.

Programs for Children

According to the church's website, children are valued and nourished at Peachtree Road where they are treated as the most valuable players.

The church said they are eager to guide children in a fun and understandable way as they grow in their religion.

It added that the children are simply a text message or a short walk away from care and programming on Sundays for all children from six weeks through 5th grade, as well as an entire area and program devoted to the teenagers (middle and high school).
