The Atlanta First United Methodist Church in Georgia has opened “Friends at the Front Door” on Tuesday, July 5.
In a Facebook post on Thursday, June 30, the Atlanta First United Methodist Church announced the opening of its “Friends at the Front Door.”
The church invited the public to join the mission team in handing out socks, meals, and toiletry kits from 12 noon to 2 p.m.
Participants may also donate $15 to the cause and find a way to do their part in making the neighbors feel seen and loved in Downtown Atlanta.

World Refugee Day
On June 25, the Atlanta First United Methodist Church in Georgia commemorated World Refugee Day.
The Atlanta First United Methodist Church announced on Facebook on Friday, June 23, that it would be celebrating World Refugee Day on Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. until noon.

School Supply Drive
The Atlanta First United Methodist Church planned a back-to-school supply drive.
The United Methodist Church said it will donate school supplies and uniforms to the Boyce L. Ansley School and Wellroot Family Services on August 28 as part of their 175 Kick-Off Celebration. On June 23, this was disclosed in a Facebook post.
The church requested supplies like backpacks for students of all ages, from preschoolers to college students, as well as notebook paper, washable markers, highlighters, index cards, pens, pencils, colored pencils, erasers, USB flash drives, earbuds, rulers, scientific calculators, and gift cards to Amazon or Target worth $15 to $40 so that students can buy school uniforms in specific sizes.
The church stated that these items might be delivered during church office hours, brought in on Sunday and left at the front desk, or shipped to the church package address at 2020 Howell Mill Road NW, Suite D-339, Atlanta, GA 30318-1732.
The church asked for help with the upcoming school year for the children.
